Shopping in East Idaho

From national retailers to one-of-a-kind local boutiques, Eastern Idaho has everything you need close to home. Here are the main shopping areas around Idaho Falls and the surrounding towns.

Idaho Falls & Ammon

  • Grand Teton Mall is the region’s enclosed mall on 17th Street in Idaho Falls, with department stores, specialty shops and restaurants nearby.
  • 17th Street & Hitt Road corridor is the main retail strip, with big-box stores, grocery stores, home improvement and dozens of restaurants.
  • Sandcreek Commons in Ammon is an open-air shopping center with major retailers, a movie theater and dining.
  • Snake River Landing is a riverfront development on the west side of Idaho Falls with restaurants, offices and walking paths along the river.
  • Historic Downtown Idaho Falls has locally owned boutiques, antique and gift shops, coffee houses and restaurants, plus events throughout the year.

Rexburg

Rexburg’s Main Street and the area around BYU–Idaho offer local shops, eateries and all the everyday essentials, with new retail growing along the Highway 20 corridor.

Rigby, Shelley & small towns

Smaller communities like Rigby, Ririe, Shelley and St. Anthony have grocery stores, local hardware stores, cafés and family-owned businesses, and Idaho Falls is a short drive away for bigger shopping trips.

Farmers markets & local goods

From late spring through fall, farmers markets and roadside farm stands across the region sell fresh produce, baked goods, honey, beef and handmade items. Idaho potatoes are a must!

Day trips

Jackson Hole, Wyoming (about 2 hours) is a favorite for galleries and western shops, and Salt Lake City (about 3 hours) has large outlet and shopping centers.
